Glastonbury
Veterinary Hospital

Since 1965, Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital has been a household name in the town of Glastonbury, Connecticut. Since 2023, the Haviar family has guided Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital into a new era of progressive, relationship-centered veterinary care focused on compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to the community they call home. It’s a promise only a locally owned, family-run full-service animal hospital can truly offer.
Why Us

Why Glastonbury Families Choose Us

“I come from a family of veterinarians and veterinary professionals, and opening our own practice felt like the natural next step. It lets us connect with this community in the same way my father did for decades.”- Dr. Jason Haviar, Owner.

Here at Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital, relationships guide the medicine, not a “corporate cookbook”. Every pet, every family, and every situation is different. Being a family-owned and community-rooted veterinary hospital, the team is committed to compassionate communication, practical treatment options, and a level of personalized care that only a team that truly knows you and your pet can offer.
Throughout your pet’s visit with us, your dog or cat companion is supported by a 2:1 team-to-patient ratio. This commitment ensures constant monitoring, calm handling, and care that never compromises on quality.
About Us
Our Commitment

Personalized Care for Pets.
Genuine Connection for People.

“We live here, we raise our kids here, and we care for the pets of our own community. This clinic is truly part of our family.”
Dr. Griffin O'Connor, Owner.
Family-Owned and Rooted in Glastonbury

“Our relationships with the families we serve make it not feel like work. You get to know families, their kids, their stories… that’s the best part of this job.” Dr. Jason Haviar, Owner.

The team at Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital lives and works here. They are your neighbors, your fellow parents on the sidelines at school sporting events, and familiar faces around town. As active participants in the town they call home, they bring genuine commitment and heart to care for its pets and the people who love them.

Compassionate, Relationship-Driven Care

“The more we understand the people we serve, the better we can support their pets.” – Dr. Griffin O’Connor, Owner.

Clients at Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital experience care that begins with connection. Our doctors sit with families, talk through concerns, and build meaningful relationships that feel more like conversations with a trusted professional than a clinical appointment.

Because the Haviars are deeply rooted in this community, they care for pets just as they care for their neighbors, with empathy, respect, and the time it takes to truly understand each family’s story.

Modern and Newly Renovated Veterinary Hospital

Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital underwent a complete renovation in 2024. Every space, from the expanded exam rooms to the updated treatment areas, was redesigned to reflect the modern, progressive care we provide. The bright, welcoming atmosphere was intentionally created to help pets feel at ease and to give families a calm, comfortable, and clean experience from the moment they walk through the door.

Flexible, Honest Treatment Options

“Our goal is for every person to leave saying, ‘That was the best experience I’ve ever had at a veterinary hospital.’ ”- Dr. Griffin O’Connor, Owner.

When you sit down with the team, you can expect a genuine conversation. Our doctors take the time to sit, listen, and ensure you feel heard and supported before beginning any examination. Our goal is to empower the families who trust us with their pet’s care to understand their choices, to ask questions freely, and to feel fully confident in the path forward.

Meet the Doctors

When Dr. Griffin O'Connor and Dr. Jason Haviar purchased Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital in 2023, they set out to honor its long-standing place in the community while ushering it into a new era of compassionate, relationship-focused care. With deep roots in Connecticut and a shared passion for veterinary medicine, the Haviars envisioned a family-owned practice where clients feel heard, pets feel safe, and the team feels valued.

They have transformed the hospital by renovating the facility, strengthening the culture, and building a team centered on empathy, integrity, and genuine connection. As local parents, community members, and dedicated veterinarians, the Haviars are proud to care for the pets of the town they call home, guiding Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital forward with heart, purpose, and a genuine commitment to the families they serve.

“Just moved to the area and changed vets to Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Jason Haviar was great, providing a spot-on assessment of my dog’s needs when I brought her in after she was unable to place weight on one side. He was very informative and patient with all my questions, and my dog is feeling much better after his intervention was given. No wait with appointment , was seen right on time. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Such a great experience. Thank you!”

Karen D.

“Great experience! I was in town over the holidays with my little dog. She started showing signs of discomfort and distress. It was Christmas Eve! I called a few vets who wouldn’t see us, but then called Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital. They gave me an appointment immediately, within 30 minutes. Everyone we came in contact with was really kind, caring, and concerned, and the Doctor we saw was AMAZING! Dr. Haviar was so down to earth and genuine. He diagnosed the problem and helped our baby. I would highly recommend this veterinary practice to anyone.”

Corina E.

“Attentive care is always given to my senior pup. The doctors, vet techs, and staff are knowledgeable and caring. As a pet owner for 30 years, I highly recommend this practice.”

Cheryl H.

“Great vet experience! My dog is sometimes dog reactive, but they made the whole visit seamless and stress-free! My dog was so happy, and I enjoyed an easy check-up visit for him. Highly recommend! Now Harbor is happily sunning himself. THANK YOU!”

Maryann M.

“I had a pair of feral cats that I wanted to rescue/adopt. They were able to accommodate me with day of care, as capturing them was never a guarantee with feral cats, and were informative about the continual at-home care as well as potential future rescue options regarding trapping/treating. They followed up the following day to check on the pets in question and were amiable to fluid followup appointments pending capture of siblings/parents.”

Matthew M.

“My husband and I got our first fur baby together, Gracie a beautiful bangle kitten and we researched and asked around about vets and Glastonbury came highly recommended and for good reason, grace was spoiled and felt very comfortable, nurses and doctors were great with excellent personalities we all were so comfortable and relieved that we found such an amazing place with excellent professional staff!! Highly recommend ❤️”

Shelley G.

“We bring our three dogs to Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital, and we couldn’t be happier with the care they receive. Dr. Haviar, Dr. O’Connor, and their staff are always so friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate. It’s clear that they truly love animals, and it shows in the way they treat our pups. We also love seeing the improvements to the building each time we visit—it’s clear they’re invested in making the space as comfortable and welcoming as possible for both pets and their owners. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring veterinary team!”

Elaine M.

“After going to other vets where me and my cat were treated very poorly, everyone at Glastonbury was super nice and welcoming, and the prices for services are much more reasonable compared to a commercially owned vet office. Owned by a husband and wife, they legitimately care about your pet and try to give you multiple options and a fair assessment as far as treatment goes. Great people will be going back for sure.”

Jeanpaul C.

“I am so happy that Dr. Jason Haviar has opened a practice in Glastonbury. I met him many years ago when he worked as a veterinarian emergency physician in Rocky Hill. He is an excellent diagnostician. He is a good listener, caring, compassionate, down to earth, and never makes you feel rushed. He did a great job with my dog’s dental and communicated well after the procedure which I appreciated.”

Anita P.

“I’ve been bringing my pups here for a few years now and have never had anything less than a great experience. Through the transfer of owners, I am confident in the care they my dogs are getting. They are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and take sufficient time with the patients. I’ve had a dog with anxiety come here and they handled it very well. Their prices are reasonable and they really care about our pets. Will continue to use them!”

Mackenzie M.

“Dr. Jason and his staff are very professional, yet there’s is still warmth and a family feel when you go there. No matter what they are there for, my dog’s are always excited to go in because they’re treated so well. We moved an hour away and still made the trip back. We’ll never switch!”
